The EU Taxonomy Regulation will come into force at the beginning of 2022 followed by the EU ESG standards for investors (based on SFDR) and large companies (based on CSRD). From 2023, all large companies with over 250 employees will be required to include key ESG data in their annual reports, in line with the new CSRD and the upcoming EU sustainability reporting standards.
* CSRD = directive introducing reporting obligations for large companies (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive)
* SFRD = Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation for investors
* EU Taxonomy = Classification system that defines sustainable activities for companies and investors
