Inspiration for companies: Frank Bold launches a database of good reporting practices

11.3.2026
If companies approach sustainability strategically, corporate reporting can become an important tool for identifying climate and social risks within their value chains. At the same time, it helps strengthen the long-term resilience of the business model and increases the trust of investors, customers, and business partners.

However, many companies are still asking a fundamental question: what should high-quality sustainability reporting actually look like?

To provide concrete answers to this question, the expert organization Frank Bold has launched a database of examples of good and emerging practices in sustainability disclosures. The database is primarily based on reports published for the year 2025 and will be gradually expanded with analyses of new sustainability reports.

In the European regulatory environment shaped by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the quality of disclosed information is increasingly becoming a factor that distinguishes true leaders from companies that merely comply with the requirements in a formal way.

What the Frank Bold database offers

The database, based on annual reports, presents concrete examples of European companies that openly and clearly describe their impacts, risks, and approaches to sustainability.

It is an interactive tool that includes, among other things, topics such as:

  • climate transition plans, risk assessment, and the disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions,
  • double materiality analysis,
  • identification and management of key impacts, risks, and opportunities,
  • disclosure of information on sustainability due diligence.

Users can browse the database by topic, country, or sector and find examples that are most relevant to their own situation. Each entry also includes commentary from experts from the Responsible Companies team at Frank Bold. This commentary explains why a given disclosure is considered high quality and where exactly it can be found in the company’s report.

Information that is relevant and useful for decision-making also sends a clear signal to the market: the company understands its risks and opportunities and has a credible strategy for addressing them.

Whether a company is preparing its first report under the CSRD directive or further refining an established disclosure process, inspiration from the practices of other companies and industry leaders can be highly valuable. It shows how complex topics—from impacts on human rights to the assessment of climate risks—can be approached in ways that methodological documents alone often cannot fully illustrate.

The database was created by our Responsible Companies team in Brussels.
